Secretary Nizza Siano is on a well-deserved holiday, and I am acting in her role till she returns home at end of October.
You are invited to attend Labor for Refugees NSW/ACT Meeting next Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 6.30PM.
If you are unable to make it to our meeting, kindly send me your apology (lhoncope@outlook.com ) and it will be recorded in the minutes.
A copy of the minutes of our last formal meeting on 23 September 2026 is attached, which you’ll require for our meeting. The agenda will be available at our meeting.
Participants won’t be muted but please mute yourself until you wish to speak.

Our next Newsletter will be in November. In the meantime, here are a couple of items before our next meeting –
- L4R NSW/ACT added our support to the campaign for a National Migration Summit. You can see us at the website here – https://www.ssi.org.au/national-migration-summit/ – click and scroll down to the list of supporting organisations. We understand that other L4Rs are looking at adding their names.
- On 21 September we wrote to Ministers about Australia’s policy on refugees stuck in Indonesia. That letter was read at our last meeting, and I have attached it to this email.
